Valedictorian and Salutatorian

The criteria to select the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the graduating class is as follows:

The Valedictorian is the student with the highest overall average in the following 30-level courses

  1. English 30-1
  2. Mathematics 30-1
  3. Social Studies 30-1
  4. Two of Chemistry 30, Biology 30, Physics 30
  5. Religion 35
  6. One other 30 level subject

Averages are calculated to the nearest hundredth of a percent.

The Salutatorian is selected using the same criteria as above.  The Salutatorian has the second highest overall average.

Please note: When a diploma exam is used in a course, the final blended mark will be used when available.  When unavailable, the final school awarded mark submitted to Alberta Education will be used.
