Mr. Henning joins HTA this year teaching Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band 10/20/30, Jazz Combo 10/20/30, CALM 20, and Social Studies 30-2. Now entering his 10th year of full-time teaching, Mr. Henning spent the past eight years at J.T. Foster School in Nanton, where he taught junior and senior high Social Studies and Band. Music is also a big part of Mr. Henning’s life outside the classroom. He co-runs the Foothills Music Society Jazz Band and plays in the Rocky Mountain Jazz Band in Calgary. When he isn’t making music, he enjoys RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, as well as 3D printing and painting miniatures for the games he runs. We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Henning to HTA and look forward to seeing him continue our proud tradition of musical excellence! 🎶

Mr. Nino joins HTA this year teaching Grade 10 and 11 Spanish and Grade 10 English. Before coming to HTA, he taught at St. Margaret School, a Spanish bilingual school in Calgary, and also spent several months teaching in Guadalajara, Mexico. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Nino enjoys playing soccer, practicing Latin dance, and playing chess. And if you happen to spot someone riding a rather unusual bike around town, there’s a good chance it’s him! 🚲 We’re excited to have Mr. Nino bringing his language skills, experiences, and energy to our school community this year. Welcome to HTA, Mr. Nino!

Mr. Erick joins HTA this year teaching Construction, Outdoor Education, Social Studies, and Religion. He brings 14 years of teaching experience with Christ the Redeemer, all of which he spent at St. John Paul II Collegiate. Outside of school, Mr. Erick enjoys spending his evenings and weekends outdoors. His wife works at St. Francis of Assisi Academy, and together they have a daughter, Catherine, and a dog named Norm. We’re so happy to have Mr. Erick sharing his experience, talents, and love of the outdoors with our students this year! Welcome to HTA!

Mr. Ball joins HTA this year teaching Social Studies, Computers, and Business. He previously taught at Notre Dame Collegiate and earned his Education degree from St. Mary’s University in Calgary. Mr. Ball is also no stranger to HTA, having completed one of his teaching practicums here during his degree. Outside of school, Mr. Ball enjoys spending time with his wife and kids and is a big sports fan—especially basketball and golf. We are excited to welcome Mr. Ball back to HTA and look forward to all he will bring to our school community!

Mrs. Lendvay joins us after 16 years as part of the Saint John Paul II Collegiate community, where she taught in the French Immersion program. As a mother of four, she values family, connection, and lifelong learning. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Lendvay enjoys baking, reading, and spending time at her family’s cabin in BC. This year, Mrs. Lendvay will be teaching French Language Arts, French as a Second Language, Social Studies, Psychology, and Sociology. We are so excited to welcome Mrs. Lendvay to the HTA community and look forward to all that she will bring to our students and school!

This year, Mrs. Barriage will be teaching English and Creative Writing at HTA! She previously taught at NDC in High River and brings with her a love of English and reading—her favorite hobby! She is excited to share that passion with her students and looks forward to continuing to learn and grow alongside them. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys running (slowly!), riding her horse in the mountains, and spending time with her family, including her two young children, ages 4 and 6. We are so happy to welcome her to the HTA community!
